1000 benefits from NYSC free medical outreach programme in Bayelsa

Over a thousand indigenes of the Obunagha community in Yenagoa local government area of Bayelsa state on Friday benefited from the  NYSC health initiative for rural dwellers.

Flagging off the medical outreach, the state coordinator, Mrs Loto Bolade enjoined members of the community to take maximum advantage of the programme to get free medical check up, treatment and drugs.

She charged the beneficiaries to avoid drug abuse,use of unprescribed drugs and delay in seeking medical attention.

Mrs Loto thanked all collaborating partners for their assistance towards a successful programme.

In his remarks, the Paramount Ruler of Obunagha Community, represented by the Community Development Committee ( CDC) Chairman, Comrade Okpos commended the NYSC for the kind social responsibility service of bring free medical outreach to the community.

Also commenting, the Reproductive Health Coordinator from the Bayelsa State Ministry of Health ,Mrs Doris Ide and the Deputy Family Planning Coordinator, Mrs Jeremiah Tonfa  thanked the NYSC for creating an opportunity for them to create awareness and attend to the people on sensitive health issues.
