2019: Atiku’s MILLIONS TEARS Delta PDP THUGS apart as heavily armed DSS officials attack journalists at Asaba airport

Scores of journalists on Tuesday suffered huge embarrassment from men of the Directorate of the State Security (DSS) as they were barred from covering the visit of former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, who was in Asaba, the Delta state capital in pursuit of his presidential ambition.

Atiku, who is one of the front runners for the PDP presidential ticket, has been visiting states to cement his relationship with members of the PDP and others so as to secure the party ticket in the primaries scheduled to hold from August 2018.

But at the Asaba international airport, members of the DSS told journalists that they have been seriously instructed and directed from the powers in the state to block journalists from assessing the airport so that they would not cover the visit of the presidential aspirant at the airport.

The head of the DSS whose identity could not be identified as at press time said: “We are under instruction not allow journalists into the airport to cover the arrival of Atiku.

“All journalists should go to government house to wait; they gave us directive to bar journalists so that they cannot give a counter directive without letting us know.

“If you guys don’t respect yourselves I will order my men to force you out.” He immediately ordered about five mobile policemen, three civil defense men and four DSS officials to push journalists out.

The Chief Security Officer of the state government house also prevented journalists from covering the event as he relegated the media men to the background. He said: “You can go and tell the whole world that security men sent you away from reporting the event.”

One female operative of the Nigerian Security and civil defense also threatened to hit journalists with her gun butt.

The female operative, who removed her name tag to shield her identity said in arrogance: “I have orders from the CSO to shoot and if you don’t leave this place now, I will break your leg. I am under instruction not to allow journalists into the airport to cover Atiku’s arrival.”

Emeraldng.com looked around the state and concluded that the only person who could give such directive in the state is no other but Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who is the chief security officer of the state. This, it is believed that no security personnel could give directive that will run counter to the directive of the state governor.

Meanwhile, PDP youths who invaded the Delta state government house were torn apart as they struggled for the millions of naira released by Atiku for the people at the end of the meeting at the unity hall of the government house.

The youths were seen running with others pursuing them as they dipped their hands into the huge money released by Atiku and made away with it.

Some, who are regarded as one belle boys who do not have jobs but only visit events to hijack money from politicians, ran away with money with fearsome face scaring away any assailant who could be on their way to pull the money from them.

Some of their pockets were heavily loaded with money which they hijacked from the booty released by Atiku which was allegedly meant to buy the mind of the people so as to help him secure the PDP ticket.

The entire government became rowdy as the youths and others ran in different directions while others ran after them to collect the money from them.

In another development, PDP bigwigs and their followers from the 25 local government areas in the state were seen in groups sharing money also made available by Atiku, the PDP presidential aspirant.

Emeraldng.com learnt that not less than 50 persons were selected from each of the 25 local government areas of the state to receive Atiku, though some persons said the number from each council area was 10. Emerald could not verify the exact number from the council areas.

Sources within the government house told journalists that the embarrassment might not be unconnected with the belief that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is allegedly interested in the former PDP caretaker chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Makarfi, to fly the presidential ticket of the party in the 2019 presidential election.

The source said with this belief, the governor allegedly allowed this embarrassment at the visit of Atiku Abubakar.
