2019: For these reasons carefully outlined by Cairo Ojougboh, APC MAY sweep 2019 polls in Delta

Spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council in Delta state, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, has boasted that the APC will sweep the presidential and the governorship polls in the state.

Ojougboh, who contested the APC governorship primaries with Great Ogboru and lost, gave the assurance during a press conference to announce the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Warri, the oil city on Thursday to flag off the presidential and state elections campaigns in the state.

The former PDP chieftain, who defected to the APC following the crisis that rocked the party and led to Alli Modu Sheriff to lose the party leadership to Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee, said Delta state is being led by corrupt, inefficient leaders who employ violence and deceit to lead the people, hence the need to flush out the decadent leadership from the government house.

He told journalists that any attempt to allow PDP back to government house will be crowning and glorifying corruption, noting that President Buhari has performed creditably well in the state and the Niger Delta region.

He said that Delta has benefited immensely from the programmes of President Buhari, naming N-Power programme, anchor borrowers, and the tradermoni as some of the programmes which have impacted on Nigerians including the people of Delta state.

Following the perceived failures he identified in Delta state, he said what is uppermost at the moment is the party winning the governorship, insisting that the issue of zoning which the ruling PDP in the state is hinging on is not part of APC programme.

He said: “There is no zoning for now, everybody is coming out to work together for the party. The party is working as one body. Delta North should support Great Ogboru to win the elections. The party needs to win the state because in the past four years, nothing has happened. Go to Agbor, there is nothing Okowa has done for Deltans.

“I went to Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom state, there you will see the beauty of roads. Everywhere is good and beautiful. It is an insult to Anioma that Anioma man built the stadium the governor is using for campaigns. Okowa is impunity personified. There is no honesty in him. He sacked workers to enable him bring in thugs as aides.

“He is building secretariat with funds he cannot account for. Government in Delta must change. It was Ibori and friends that started this nonsense in Delta and it must not continue. If Okowa wins, his second term will be full of impunity. Common environmental sanitation we cannot do in Delta.

“Drive to Anambra state, you will see the beauty of roads. The 290 roads he is counting are they in his bedroom? What Anambra has received is not up to 10 percent of what Delta has received but Anambra is more developed that Delta state. If we vote normally, Okowa will not get any vote in his Ika North East local government area.”
