Over 300 aspirants from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), PDP and other political parties are vying for the Bauchi State House of Assembly seat in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
Findings by Daily Trust revealed that the ruling APC tops the list with about 160 aspirants followed by the opposition New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) with over 100 while PDP has over 50 aspirants.
GPN, SDP and other parties also have candidates for the state House of Assembly tickets.
Bauchi State House of Assembly has 31 members from various constituencies across the 20 local government areas of the state.
State Organising secretary of APC, Lawan Gyan-Gyan informed that 160 aspirants have indicated their interests and purchased forms to vie for the ticket at the forthcoming party’s primaries.
Similarly, the state publicity secretary of NNPP, Sabiu Zaranda said that about 100 aspirants are vying for the ticket in their party.
Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam, the Bauchi state chairman of opposition PDP said that over 50 aspirants are also vying for the party’s state House of Assembly tickets in the primaries.
