The youth body of Avenue Baptist Church has keyed into the directive of the chairman of Warri south, Michael Tidi, in making Warri clean by embarking on clearing of drains in the city.
The church youth and members of the church protocol committee came out massively to clear blocked drainages along Maduku street which was blocked for a very long time and causing flooding, affecting several houses and the main road whenever it rains.
According to the mobilizer and chairman, Avenue Baptist Church protocol committee, Bro. Wilfred Ogheneochuko, the area cleared open include the canal from Maduku linking Avenue along Okumaga estate and other adjoining drains which have been major challenges to free flow of water in the area.
Ogheneochuko assured that God willing members of ABC protocol committee will endeavour to continually carry on with the sanitation exercise in order to rid the area of flooding, mosquitoes and reptiles.
He appealed to those dumping dirt on the water right of way to desist from doing so and appealed to the Warri south council environmental sanitation taskforce to take note of the area in order to sanction those dumping refuse indiscriminately into the canal.
