Democratic People’s Party (DPP) has held its executive meeting to ascertain the level of preparedness at the state, local governments, wards, up to the units level ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Presiding over the meeting held at the Casa De Pedro Hotel in Warri, the Delta State Chairman of the Democratic People’s Party, Hon. Okpegwa Ejirooghene Abel, on behalf of the national body of DPP, expressed satisfaction at the level of turnout of members, noting that it is a show of solidarity, support, love and a sign of victory come 2019.
Okpegwa, while stressing on the need for all executive both at the state, local government, wards and unit levels to be good ambassadors of DPP, asserted that for the party to take over Delta government house in 2019, all hands must be on deck.
He also advised all LGA executives to contribute their quota to the growth of the party, propagate the gospel of DPP, embark on door to door campaign and by God’s special grace, victory is sure come 2019.
Announcing the New Face of DPP in Delta State, the Party’s State Chairman, Okpegwa Ejiroghene, said old things have passed away and behold, all things have become new.
The State Chairman, while speaking with journalists, said that DPP is one big family and as such, urged all aggrieved members to come home, go back to their first love and again urged all excos to get all LGAs structures in place and ensure that they deliver their various local government areas.
His words: “DPP is out for victory in 2019, we will not impose candidates, there will be a good level playing ground for all; as I speak, there are other political party members that are begging us to decamp and at the appropriate time, we shall receive them”.
He added that DPP has done it before, there is nothing other political parties can do that DPP cannot do and I can say authoritatively that we are ready for the task ahead, we shall match PDP man to man because we have all it takes to win Delta State come 2019″.
High point of the meeting was the handing over of the party’s constitution, membership cards, posters, banners and other materials to the various LGAs chairmen that were present.
