Bayelsa elders meet over Nembe/Brass federal constituency seat, endorses PMB’s campaign coordinator

A group, the Nembe/Brass Advocates for Good Governance (NBGG), on Tuesady met to review the credentials of aspirants for the Brass/Nembe Federal Constituency seat, declaring that the choice of Hon. Israel Sunny-Igoli will be suitable to represent the people of the area in 2019.

Hon. Israel Sunny Igoli is the member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) representing Brass constituency 2 at the State House of Assembly and the South-South Coordinator of the President Muhammad Buhari re-election in 2019.

The group, made up of political elders and youths drawn from different political affiliations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  the All Progressive Congress (APC) (PDP)  from the two local government council of Nembe and Brass, said the decision was based on equity, justice and fair play.

A PDP leader,  Comrade Nimi Jackson, who confirmed the development to newsmen in Yenagoa, said the meeting was attended by politicians and youth leaders irrespective of political parties was held to fashion out a united front devoid of acrimony during the National Assembly elections.

Comrade Jackson said though the decision of the elders was based on the issue of rotation of political positions between Nembe and Brass which has produced the incumbent federal lawmaker from the constituency, Hon. Foiyan Jephthah, “it is now the turn of Brass people to produce the federal lawmaker.

“Everyone at the meeting agreed that Hon. Israel Sunny-Igoli is a young politician and with an acceptable political criteria. After close scrutiny, we passed a vote of confidence on him to be nominated and occupy the Nembe/Brass seat come 2019.

“The decision was born out of months of consultation and meeting among stakeholders. And we are calling on all the other intending aspirants to support him as the voice of the people is the voice of God.”
