Bayelsa guber: Senator Lokpobiri moves to become governor, offers reasons for aspiration

The Director-General of the Senator Heineken Lokpobiri Campaign Organisation, Hon. Warman Ogoriba has offered reasons why the Former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri is vying for governorship ticket on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Hon. Warman Ogoriba, who was a two-term member of the Federal House of Representative from Bayelsa State, said the decision by the Former Minister was based on his pedigree, experience and capacity to deliver the people of the State from poverty and under development.

Hon. Ogoriba, who made this known in Yenagoa, said the entry of Senator Lokpobiri is the answer to the yearning of people of the state for a candidate they can trust to deliver them from the shackles of suffering and development.

According to Ogoriba,” if you know Senator Lokpobiri political history, you wilk know that he is serious ans focussed.Lokpobiri is competent and has capacity. You will recall that he was the speaker when the people of the State know the capacity of a speaker.”

“He is passionate about Bayelsa and wants to develop the state. Lokpobiri is concerned about the people and those are the kind of people the state need.”

On the claim of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has no capacity to win any elections in the State, Hon. Ogoriba said “there is a paradigm shift in the APC in Bayelsa State.

The claim that the party has no capacity to win election is misplaced. We have produced Two Federal House of Representative members, a Senator and four Assembly members. if they claim we used Federal, i think they are confusing the massive votes from the electorates to mean federal might.”

Hon. Ogoriba also dismissed as “a false claim” issues raised about zoning arrangement on where the next Governor will emerge,” what we are saying is that the best candidate should be allowed to salavage the state. Bayelsa people are in the need for positive change.”

He called on the political class in the state not to allow the issue of zoning bring up issue of incompetence,” we can not allow incompetence to play the role on the issue of zoning. Instead of zoning, the people can work towards ensuring that each of the Eight Local Government produces a Governor.”
