BREAKING: Buhari reportedly sends DSS, police to beat up Fayose (Read what police said)

Following the action of Governor Ayodele Fayose who ordered taxi and other commercial drivers off Ekiti road yesterday when President Muhammadu Buhari and his APC team stormed the state for mega rally, the Buhari’s presidency has reportedly ordered men of the DSS and police who raided Ekiti government house, teargased Fayose and dragged him on the floor.

Reports say the police and the DSS burst into the Ekiti government house, besieged the offices and prevented movement in and out of the complex housing his office and his staff with armoured personnel carriers and hilux vehicles.

Some armed police officers numbering over 50 condoned off the entrance to the Ekiti government house, sending panic AND shiver into the minds of staffers of the government house complex.

Reports further say the entrance to the governor’s office was blocked as the security agencts released teargas on the governor.

The attorney general of the state, Kolapo Kolade, told journalists that the police officers took over the place in the early hours of Wednesday, July 11.

“The governor had planned to meet with civil servants from grade level one to seven at 9am on Wednesday.

“The meeting was also to stage a road show with the workers wearing white shirts, but before anyone could get there, the police had arrived with over 50 vehicles and blocked the place.”

Kolade stated that the governor who wanted to drive out of the office was hindered by the policemen who threw teargas to ensure that the governor drove back into his office.

“They fired teargas canisters and the governor had to return to the office. He is still there now and cannot go out. Nobody can drive in or out, but those who are trekking can do so around the area,” Kolade added.

The police public relations officer in Ekiti state, Caleb Okechukwu, told journalists the police were stationed at the government house to provide security for all citizens.

“Our job is to provide security for everybody and that is what we are doing,” Okechukwu said.

Asked whether the barricade at the government house was to safeguard the governor, Okechukwu only stated that the police were drafted to protect the citizens.

Media assistant to the governor, Lere Oayinka said Governor Ayodele Fayose escaped plot to assassinate him.

According to a tweet by Olayinka on his Twitter handle, he said that ‘Fayose is currently receiving treatment at government house clinic after he was hit by teargas canisters fired by the policemen.

Some reports say the police and DSS dragged him on the floor, broke his neck and hands, saying it was the template for the 2019 general elections in Nigeria, describing it as a siege on Nigeria’s democracy.
