Obi of Ogodo community in Aniocha north local government area of Delta state who was kidnapped Sunday has been released by his abductors.
He was released Tuesday evening around Asaba and is presently in a hospital for health check.
The House of Assembly member for Aniocha North Engr. Emeka Nwaobi who has been on top of the matter alongside other political chieftains and the Aniocha North Traditional Council of Chiefs was said to have quickly ferried the Ogodo Monarch to a private hospital in Asaba.
It is not clear if any monies exchanged hands before the King was released but his abductors had demanded fifteen million Naira for him to regain his freedom.
Sources who know about the development confirm that while the King was in the hands of the kidnappers he was able to make and take calls once in a while and appeared to be in high spirits despite the ordeal he was passing through.
The Ogodo community is likely to be agog when their King returns in good health anytime soon.
Two persons who were with the Monarch were injured in the shuffle that ensued as the kidnappers seized the King.
It will be recalled that the Ogodo Monarch was kidnapped by masked men Sunday on his way to his domain from Issele Mkpetime.
