Israel Eshanekpe, the south south zonal coordinator for Youth and Support Groups for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday stormed the Ughelli stadium during the PDP campaign rally with a mammoth crowd of youths drawn from the nine local government areas of Urhobo land.
Eshanekpe, who doubles as the national coordinator of Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, NCNDE-A, said he was at the stadium to honour Governor Ifeanyi Okowa whom he described as the people’s governor.
According to Eshanekpe, also known as Akpodoro, Governor Okowa has no rival in the state as he called on those he described as political traders to surrender their seeming opposition to the peoples’ governor noting that the time has come for the citizens to face the realities on ground and support the governor.
He stated that some politicians in the state feast on the misfortunes of the people saying that, all they do was to roll out campaign tanks every four years to deceive the people while causing ethnic divisions among the citizenry for personal gains.
He commended the governor for giving the state a facelift from what the former governor left, stressing that the people of the state have never suffered the way they did under Ex-Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan who he scoffed for building only two flyovers in the state as his major projects for two straight tenures of eight years leaving the people in abject poverty.
Akpodoro, who is also the founder of the Urhobo Youth Forum for Change, UYFC, assured the governor of Urhobo votes at the poll as he averred that he (Okowa) was a definition of absolute loyalty during the reigns of Urhobo sons adding: “One good turn deserves another” and for that reason and many others he has the support of all Urhobo sons and daughters.
He said his team will campaign tirelessly for the PDP’s candidate all over the place until victory was achieved noting: “I’m leaving the stadium right for Abraka where a large crowd of youth is waiting for me still on the issue of how to demystify the much boasted federal might of the All Progressives Congress.
“No APC candidate in the forthcoming elections shall win his polling unit because we are on ground to ensure total failure for those who see themselves as political heavyweight in the state. We shall ridicule them and ensure Governor Okowa sends them to their early retirement from politics.”
Meanwhile, the member representing Sapele,Okpe/Uwvie Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Hon. Evelyn Oboro, paid a courtesy call on Akpodoro shortly after he left the stadium.
Oboro who is the senatorial candidate of the PDP for Delta Central Senatorial district and Akpodoro both of whom are illustrious son and daughter of Urhobo centered their discussion on issues of common interests as it concerns development of human and material resources in their nation.
