Delta deputy governor to perform Ijaw/Itsekiri unity cup kick off at Ugborodo today

The Deputy Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Barr Kingsley Otuaro, will perform the kick off ceremony of the Ijaw/Itsekriri peace and unity cup at Ugborodo Community in Warri South West Local Government Area.

In an interview, the Organiser of the Peace and Unity Cup, Comrade Sheriff Mulade disclosed that the Deputy Governor is expected to perform the kick off ceremony on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 12 noon.

An indegene Mr Tosin Arub, said: “It is going to be a celebration for the people of coastal communities particularly Ugborodo where indigenes of the community have prepared to receive the Deputy Governor and his entourage with entertainment troupe. The time has come for us to work together and promote peaceful coexistence among us to bring the desired development”.

“The people of Ugborodo Community are so excited that the Deputy Governor is coming personnally to our area for the first time to perform a ceremony such as the Ijaw/Itsekiri peace and unity Cup. At the moment, the entire community is agog with neighbouring communities particularly from their Ijaw brothers from Teibujor community in Gbaramatu Kingdom who are playing the opening ceremony with the host Ugborodo community Infact, the people cannot wait to have the State Deputy Governor in their Community to take the kick off ceremony of the Unity Cup that has come to stay”, he added.
