Isoko South Accord Party Chairman, Comrade Iteveh Ekpokpobe, has congratulated Isoko South and North Chairmen, Honorables Constantine Ikpokpo and Emmanuel Egbabor on their victory in the just concluded local government polls.
In a chat with newsmen in his hometown Oleh, Iteveh tasked both chairmen to see the victory as a chance to better promote the nation’s nascent democracy, good governance and transparency especially, at the grassroots.
He also called on all stakeholders to refrain from heating up the polity with unnecessary actions but should join hands with the victors to better chart a way forward for the people.
While applauding the electorates for their overwhelming participation, Iteveh commended their resilience, strong will and determination to make their voices heard.
According to him, the electorates have sent a message of a new consciousness, almost revolutionary which any true politician or leader cannot underestimate.
“The questions of whether the election was free, fair or credible may become immaterial particular at this point. Victors have emerged to pilot the affairs of government for the betterment of our people. What should not, however, be taken for granted is how strongly the almost suicidal convictions of electorates were exerted.”
“It’s is a microcosm of what 2019 may look like. It’s a call on leaders and politicians to sit up in with their duties of governance. Once again let me congratulate my Chairmen Honorables Constantine Ikpokpo and Emmanuel Egbabor on their victory. They worked for hard for it and every hardwork must be rewarded.” Iteveh stated.
