Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has been billed to grace the inauguration ceremony of the 25 newly elected executive members of Delta State Barbers Union in Asaba, the state capital on Wednesday.
Besides the inauguration of the new executive members which is coming up on Wednesday at South Gate Hotel, February 27, 2019 in Asaba, the over 1000 barbers, drawn from the 25 local government areas of the state have finalized plans to organize a road show in support of Governor Okowa’s re-election bid.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, state chairman of the union and chairman of the inauguration planning committee, Afam Osinechi and Uchekwukwu Akabude respectively, the duo said Governor Okowa has performed excellently well, hence the need to support his-re-election to continue his good work for Delta people.
Osinechi, who spoke alongside Akabude, said the union will be inaugurating 25 executive members with 13 as principal officers of the association, adding that the over 1000 members and others that will be in attendance will be mobilized from across the 25 local government areas of the state.
He said the union has been in existence for long and members have benefited immensely from the union, noting that the union has been able to source loan from the federal and state governments to help their members across the state.
He also added that the platform has helped members to get recognition, know each other and help assist members in time of need.
He listed Governor Okowa, Special Adviser to the governor on political matters, who is in charge of the informal sector as some of the great personalities expected to grace the inauguration on Wednesday.
He also said the monarch of Atuma-Iga in Oshimili north local government area, HRM Chukwuka Daniel Ogbudo, will be the royal father of the day.
