Election postponement: Buhari has just postponed the day of his defeat till next Saturday – Ex-militant leader

Following the postponement of the 2019 genwral elections, president of the National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, Eshanekpe Israel, a.k.a Akpodoro has said President Muhammadu Buhari has just postponed his imminent defeat at the poll.

In a statement made available to Emerald Media, Akpodoro said Buhari will be defeated by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar noting that postponing the election, he has just postponed the evil day.

The Urhobo -born ex-militant leader stated this in Ughelli Delta State at the wake of the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC postponing the presidential and national assembly elections earlier scheduled to hold today.

Akpodoro said thw reasons given by INEC were not enough to warrant the ppatponemenr citing what Akpodoro described as unwarranted and senseless reasons by the electoral umpire.

According to the former warrior, INEC in its “mischief” didn’t consider Nigerians who traveled all the way to their states to vote saying, such insensitivity has pitches Mr Buhari against the Nigerian people adding that it was the reason he must be voted out.

“In all honesty, my Coalition condemns in its entirety the action of the Yakub Mahmood-led INEC for turning itself to an errand institution to Buhari and his handlers.”

If need be, Akpodoro stressed further that INEC ought to have made its intention known to Nigerians long before the announcement in less than twenty four hours to the election wondering why a government with its election umpire treat it’s people with such disdain.

Pointedly, Akpodoro accused the Buhari administration of a predetermined plan to scuttle the election.

He said no amount of postponement can rescue the president from the looming defeat except he resigns honourably.

He call on Nigerians to keep faith with the PDP’s candidate noting that only Atiku can heal the wounds inflicted on the Nigerian people by the Buhari’s administration adding that such was the price necessary for the desired freedom from poverty, wickedness, insecurity that the people have been facing under the current regime of “ineptitude, cluelessness, highhandedness and wanton corruption in high places.”

He stressed: “this development underscores the ineptitude, sincerity and unwillingness of the INEC to conduct credible poll.

Postponing elections of this magnitude few hours to its take off draws a map of deficiency, incompetence and lack of transparency in the entire process itself.

At this stage what assurances do we have as a people that we can trust this INEC, that waited until the wee hours to take off, to shift the dates? The postponement is a proof to the fact that the commission lacked the simple courtesy to apologise and take responsibility for this national insult.” The vociferous ex-militant leader stated.
