Members of the Bayelsa based Odoko world outreach ministry have disowned the arrested 42-year-old father, Sunday Otasi, over the killing of his two sons on Wednesday with poisonous substance known as sniper over alleged fake prophecy.
According to members of the church, “the reported involvement of the church over the alleged fake prophesy that purportedly influenced the arrested father to murder his sons is mischievous and a devilish attempt to associate our General Overseer, Apostle George Odoko with the case of murder.”
The members of the outreach, in a statement issued on Saturday in Yenagoa and signed by the President of the George Odoko World Outreach Ministry, Apostle George Odoko, he described the report as misleading to suggest that the overseer, Apostle George Odoko of George Odoko World Outreach, did give a prophecy to one Sunday Otasi, a father of three and alleged killer of his sons .
According to the church: “First let us express our deepest condolences to the departed souls and commiserate with their family. Truth is irrepressible. No amount of blackmail can destroy it. Neither can it be submerged by the syndicated falsehood. We want to state it categorically that this is another campaign of calumny against the person of Apostle George Odoko and the ministry.
“There was never at any time I met with the said person and gave the prophecy in question. It is nothing but deliberate mischief to rubbish my person and ministry.
“God’s mission and mandate have no falsehood and I have no hand in the prophecy and I am condemning the dastardly act and heinous crime in strong term as reported in some section of the media.
“We call on media practitioners and media houses to be more professional and cross check facts in the discharge of their duties and for those who have mentioned our esteemed overseer’s name and ministry in the blackmail should remove such or be prepared to face legal action. Our reputation is intact and no amount blackmail will diminish it.
“We call on the members of George Odoko World Outreach Ministry to remain steadfast, because God has given us victory over our enemies.”
It would be recalled that the Bayelsa state police command had on Tuesday, arrested a 42-year-old father, Sunday Otasi, for allegedly killing his two sons with a poisonous substance ‘sniper’ over suspicion of witchcraft on them.
The three children were said to have run into troubled waters sometimes in September last year when the Yenagoa based Prophet, Apostle Goerge Odoko, was alleged to have told the father that his children were wizards and responsible for his illness.
