The Bayelsa state Governor Seriake Dickson has appointed caretaker chairmen for the local government councils in the state.
Governor Dickson, in the list forwarded to the State House of Assembly for confirmation, dropped four immediate past caretaker chairmen and re-appointed four others.
Among those appointed were a former Women Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party,Mrs. Naomi Ogoli (Ogbia), Michael Magbisa (Sagbama),Tolu Amatu (Ekeremor), Victor Isaiah (Brass),Chief Befie Inemo (Nembe), Oforji Oboku (Yenagoa), Nigeria Kia (Southern Ijaw) andWisdom Fafi (Kolokuma/Opokuma).
Among those dropped were a former militant leader, Joshua Maciver (Southern Ijaw),the former Special Assistant to the Governor on Marine Security, Hon. Bello Bina (Brass LGA), former Commissioner for Special Duties, Chief Walter Kuroghofa Walter Benwari (Nembe LGA) and Ebiango Ogai (Ogbia LGA), a loyalist of the Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
A check showed that many followers of the last administration of Hon. Bello Bina and Joshua Machiver in Brass and Southern Ijaw Local Councils were shocked that they were dropped. They argued that though Governor Dickson reserves the right to choose, the performance of the duo would have earned them re-appointment.
Emeraldng.com gathered that though the newly appointed Caretaker chairmen are expected to appear before the state Assembly for screening next week, the yard stick used by Governor Seriake Dickson to re-appoint the four from the last council bosses were party loyalty, performance and security assessment of their political activities since being asked to step aside.
While many of those not returned to office were accused of staying away from Party and government functions since they were removed, other claimed independent investigations have linked them with the Former President Goodluck Jonathan.
