Delta 27: Delta currently most peaceful state in Nigeria- Okowa’s aide says

Aide to Delta state governor, Ovie Success Ossai, has described Delta state as the most peaceful state in Nigeria.

Ossai, who made this known while chatting with journalists in Asaba, noted that Delta state since her creation has a lot to celebrate looking at the peaceful life and the ongoing development in the state due to the peaceful existence among the people.

“As Deltans, we have a lot to celebrate as a people. Our past heroes and present leaders have done well in creating enabling environment for investors to thrive. Since the creation of the state till date, we have witnessed unprecedented transformations and this is due to the competition of the good people of Delta state.

“The current governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has focused on the development of the state being an experienced politician in the past years and has been able to do justice to the state resources in bringing prosperity to all Deltans.

“Over the years as governor, he has been able to construct over 200 road projects across the state.

“Talking about job creation, a great number of unemployed youths have been transformed into owners of businesses and employers of labour in the Okowa’s job creation scheme.

“As at now the governor has transformed three technical colleges to world class colleges and there are over four more technical education that are currently undergoing transformation

“The governor has also embarked on solving the flood challenges in the state by spending billions of naira curbing the menace of flooding in the state capital territory.

Delta state was created on August 27th 1991 out of former Bendel State.

The name Delta was derived from Benin and Delta, the two provinces that made up the former Midwestern region created by the plebiscite in 1963 from the then Western region.
