Comrade Sheriff Mulade, frontline PDP aspirant for Warri south west in the 2019 Delta state house of assembly elections was the first aspirant to be screened and cleared among the aspirants jostling for the Warri south west constituency ticket.
Mulade is seen by many as the most favoured of all the aspirants from the Warri south west state constituency as his legacies are visiblle everywhere in the local government area.
Meanwhile, youths of Warri South-West constituency under the aegis of Warri South-West Youth Forum have reaffirmed their unalloyed support and endorsement of Governor Okowa for second term, saying they never supported the call for the sack of deputy governor by some unscrupulous elements identified as Niger-Delta Political Watch in some weeks back.
The youth forum also endorsed the environmental human rights activist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, for Dellta House of Assembly 2019, saying Mulade is a grassroots politician as well as development oriented judging by his track records.
The youths made the endorsement at Asaba through the President, Mandela Zyon Bomini, shortly after a meeting with coalition of youths for good governance.
The youths said endorsement of Okowa/Otuaro for second term became necessary because Okowa has served Delta state with all sense of fairness and equity.
They said Governor Okowa has also empowered youths with relevant skills through the ‘SMART AGENDA, adding that his development stride is second to none.
In a similar vein, Mandela said the Warri South-West Youth Forum also deemed it fit to endorse Sheriff Mulade for House of Assembly 2019 because he is a personality with passion that could be trusted to deliver on his mandate and promises, especially when such passion is rooted on his grassroots experiences.
They said his enthusiasm in issues of grassroots development, youth empowerment and his clamour for sustainable green environment, free from degradation is second to none in the Niger Delta region.
Speaking further on the credibility of Mulade as a grassroots development master, Mandela said: “As a community chairman of Kokodiagbene, he reconstructed the market stores built by SPDC that were abandoned for about 20 years and gave the market a facelift, whereby the market became a prototype for other neighboring communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom.
In addition, in order to ease the transportation of persons and foodstuffs, Sheriff Mulade donated a ferry (local engine boat) for the benefit of riverine community traders which is the first gesture of its kind in that area. In 2016, he also saw to the sand filling project which was vigorously pursued and achieved same year.
In the area of education, to help youths better their lives in line with his drive, he initiated and established the Coastal Primary School in the Jones Creek Flow Station area in 2017 to cater for the communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom.
He has consistently organized the Comrade Sheriff Mulade Peace and Unity Quiz & Essay Competition as well as Unity Football Competitions every year among the Ijaws and Itsekiris in Warri South-West.
The list is endless, outside his community engagement, through his non- governmental organization, Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), he has continued to create awareness on issues of environment thereby reducing the level of ignorance in the society.
This he has done through organizing Seminars, Conferences, Summits and Workshops on regular basis in different states in Nigeria and beyond with the aim of educating stakeholders on ways of sustaining peace, security and environmental best practices.”
