Niger Delta activist congratulates Atiku, commends Okowa over successful PDP national convention

A Niger Delta environmental rights and peace advocate, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, has congratulated former vice president of Nigeria, Alahaji Atiku Abubakar, on his well-deserved emergence as the presidential flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Briefing journalist in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, the venue of the PDP convention, Comrade Mulade in his congratulatory message to Atiku, said: “Atiku’s victory was proof of his hard work and concerted efforts expended towards winning the primary, we are expecting similar landslide victory at the general election. We will work assiduously for our party’s victory in 2019.”

Mulade also commended the executive governor of Delta state, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who successfully chaired the PDP’s national convention, stating that Deltans are proud of Governor Okowa and his abilities to manage and coordinate PDP activities within and outside Delta state.

He appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a free and fair 2019 general elections, adding that free election will play a key role in deepening Nigeria’s nascent democracy and give Nigerians a sense of democratic involvement in government.

Commending PDP leadership for the hitch free convention, Mulade said: “We commend the PDP leadership for making the right choice and also hosting the convention in the heart of the Niger Delta, I am appealing to all aspirants to extend hands of friendship to the new presidential party’s flag bearer and  gallantly march towards 2019 presidential election.”
