A prominent Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain and one time Governorship Aspirant in Delta State, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has described the recommendations of the APC committee on restructuring headed by Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna state as a pseudo meal ticket to hoodwink gullible Nigerians into voting them come 2019.
Onuesoke stated this while speaking with Journalists at the International headquarters of Onuesoke Foundation in Warri, Delta state.
Onuesoke, who is also the Media Director of Atiku Care Foundation (ACF), said APC is well known for its lies and propaganda aimed at deceiving Nigerians, stating that the committee report is another attempt at luring voters.
“They hurriedly recommended devolution of power to the states, state police and others because Nigerians are yearning for these changes,” he noted.
“If you look closely at the recommendations, you will discover that Buhari led APC government is out to witch hunt and impoverish the people of the Niger-Delta for rejecting APC at the 2015 polls.
“How can you say that all on-shore crude oil found anywhere in Nigeria, its mining and ownership should be vested in the states where found while such crude in off-shore should be vested with the federal government?.
“Is Buhari telling us that the majority crude oil in the Niger Delta which is found off-shore will remain in the firm grip of the federal government leaving the region with absolutely nothing?
“APC brand of restructuring is a distraction and grand deceit to win the minds of Nigerians to vote the party again in 2019. If you think otherwise, why did they wait till now to come out with such recommendations knowing fully well that Nigerians are not happy with their leadership style and elections is just around the corner?”
“The people of the Niger Delta region will not accept this recommendations. We reject it in its entirety. It is an attempt by Buhari and his cohorts in the ruling party to perpetually enslave the good people of the region” he stated.
