Secondus to Buhari: You can arrest and detain our leaders, we will not be intimidated to surrender

National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, weekend, said irrespective of intimidations and arrests from the federal government and specifically President Muhammadu Buhari, the PDP and the Nigerian people are ready to take over power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general elections.

Secondus, who spoke in Asaba, Delta state capital when indigenes of Anioma area of Delta state hosted Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to a grand reception having, according to them, served meritoriously for the past three years as governor of Delta state.

Secondus, who is presently running a legal battle with minister of information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, over inclusion of his name among looters list, told the crowd that gathered at the cenotaph in Asaba that the APC should go on arresting and detaining their members but the PDP will never be intimidated to surrender to the dictates of the APC led federal government.

He said: “No amount of intimidation, lies, propaganda will stop the PDP and the people of Nigeria from taking over government from the APC. Let them arrest and detain our leaders, it will not work. They had their way in 2015 with lies and propaganda, they cannot get it this time around.”

He said the APC is sinking that is why the party is harassing the leaders and members of the PDP, adding that the party is set to regain the lost ground and bring back the lost glory in 2019.

The PDP national chairman condemned the statement of President Buhari where he said Nigerian youths are lazy and uneducated.

But Secondus said Nigerian youths are hardworking, resourceful, great and energetic, noting that as future leaders of Nigeria, they are not lazy.

Secondus, who felt the pains of Nigerians being killed on daily basis by Fulani herdsmen, sympathized with families who have lost their dear ones, just as he directed a minute silence for the murdered Nigerians.

He gave kudos to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his achievement in the last three years as governor of Delta state, saying the three years have been eventful and wonderful for the people of the state.

He told aspirants into any political office under the platform of the PDP that the party will give a level playing field for everyone, insisting that the days of imposition and impunity were over.
