PLANNED PROTEST AGAINST EPILEPTIC POWER SUPPLY BY THE BEDC IN ASABA
Residents of Asaba and neighbouring communities will be embarking on a peaceful protest against epileptic power supply by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company BEDC.
The protest march will hold on Wednesday, 10 July, 2019 from the Federal Medical Centre, FMC roundabout, Asaba.
The protesters led by the Young Nigerians rights organizations will march from FMC to the state government house, the State House of Assembly and finally the BEDC office on Anwai Road in Asaba.
According to the organizers, the protest is aimed at ensuring that the federal government revokes the license of the BEDC which expires this year and hand it over to a more competent DISCO due to poor performance.
The police and other relevant security agencies have been informed on the planned peaceful protest and would be on ground to ensure that protest is carried out according to plan.
Residents of Asaba and neighbouring communities are by this information invited to join the peaceful protest to rescue Asaba people from estimated billings, epileptic power supply, and other nefarious activities of the BEDC aimed at bringing untold hardship to the public.
