The governing chairman of Delta State School of Health Technology, Ofuoma-Ughelli, Dr (Pharm.) Nelson Ejakpovi, has described the endorsement of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the sole candidate of the Anioma nation as the wish of all Deltans and lovers of democracy.
According to Ejakpovi, who was reacting to the adoption of Governor Okowa as the Anioma sole candidate for the 2019 governorship elections, “democracy is all about good governance and our Governor Okowa has performed very well, so, the adoption of the governor as sole candidate for the 2019 governorship elections was simply voicing the minds of well meaning Deltans and lovers of democracy.
“There is no doubt about the fact that the people of Anioma spoke the minds of Deltans because, Governor Okowa has done very well in all spheres of life bearing in mind the economic situation of the country as at the time he came on board,” Dr Ejakpovi said.
He added: “One can only imagine the transformation that the nooks and crannies of Delta state will witness in another four years of Governor Okowa’s administration, the governor’s nick name will simply go beyond the road master to transformation master.”
Dr Ejakpovi, who congratulated Governor Okowa on the adoption, emphasized that the governor had silenced the opposition with the massive construction of roads and delivery on different projects across the state.
“Where are the opposition? Notable Deltans who have the ambition to govern the state have refused to contest because, they are happy that the governor is executing projects that are changing the lives of Deltans and as such, bearing in mind that democracy is government of the people for the people, the people are speaking with one voice that the Governor should continue till 2023,” Dr Ejakpovi stated.
“From ensuring that courses offered in schools are accredited to construction of roads, provision of needed infrastructure, creating wealth for youths of the state, it is all about success stories that goes with good governance which Governor Okowa has institutionalized in the state and we are happy,” the Chairman, Governing Council said.
