An Atlanta Georgia based Annmom foundation has awarded the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, an award of excellence in recognition of his success in administration and politics.
In a statement made available to the press in Atlanta Georgia, the Nigerian – American founder of the Foundation, Ms Ann Ehigiator, noted that the former vice president was chosen as winner of that award category after a painstaking effort through the vehicle of logic by a college of human development experts drawn from five countries of Europe, America and Africa.
Others in that category are the wife of the Nigerian president, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, the governors of Delta and Rivers States, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and Nyesom Wike respectively.
The second category of the award winners which ceremony was held on December 28, 2018 Award of Excellent in human capital development. The Nigerian winners of this category includes: the Governors of Kano and Kaduna states: Mallam Nasir El-rufai and Muhammadu Ganduje respectively.
Additionally, Ehigiator stated that the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki won the award for Super Human Developer in recognition of his giant strides in rewriting the narratives of the downtrodden in his state since inception in office.
On the list of the award winners are: Mrs Doris Uboh and Senator Oluremi Tinubu both of whom are chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Mrs Uboh, a former member of the House of Representives and Delta north senatorial candidate of the APC won the award of Strong Women In Politics while Senator Tinubu won the Annmom Foundation Mother of the Year Award.
The Foundation said the award ceremony in US in December was one in a series slated to mark the annual events of the Non-Governmenral Organisation, NGO.
Ehigiator stressed further that the Foundation was making efforts to reach the awardees in Nigeria. “Prominent members of the Foundation in Europe and America would be joining their counterparts in Nigeria most of who are popular Nollywood Stars to present the award individually to winners.” Ehigiator stated.
Registered in the U.S and Nigeria as Annmom Foundation for Mothers’ Welfare, AFMW, the non religious and non partisan organisation has pregnant women and children as it’s main focus. It gives succour to needy mother’s and children all over the world.
The AFMW has on several occasions been engaged in humanitarian services in the Internally Displaced Persons, IDP camps in the Boko Haram ravaged north east Nigeria where it distributed milk and clothes to the needy; it was in post war Liberia, DR Congo, Rwanda amongst other African nations.
In Germany during the refugee crises, Annmom Foundation didn’t rest on its oars giving succour to pregnant refugees in their camps across the affected European countries just as it is doing in the US -Mexico boarder shutdown.
Residents of the Idiaraba and Agege shanties in Lagos, South – West Nigerua are also witnesses to the giant strides of the foundation to put smile on the faces of the world’s poorest.
On the board of the Foundation which prides itself above self interest are Americans, Europeans and Africans including a prominent Nollywood Star, Bennedict Johnson, who arrived Nigeria few days ago from his foreign mission for the NGO
