Urhobo youths under Comrade Nicholas Omoko UPU leadership have tongue-lashed Chief Joe Omene over what they described as empty threats in an attempt to gain cheap popularity over a report allegedly credited to him that he would cause mayhem at the venues of the 2018 Urhobo Day celebration if the Olorogun Moses Taiga-UPU leadership goes ahead with the planned Urhobo Day celebration.

The Urhobo youths, a subset of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU made the remarks in a press statement at the weekend in Oghara.

It urged Urhobo sons and daughters to disregard the statement credited to Joe Omene and his toothless gangsters, just as he advised Omene and his group to support Olorogun Moses Taiga UPU leadership for the interest of Urhobo people.

Stressing that the hitherto Urhobo Day Celebration would hold as scheduled, while warning mischief makers to stay off the venues for the week-long event to avoid the swooping of vibrant Urhobo youth leaders who would be on red alert before, during and after the Urhobo Day celebration.

Omoko also noted that Omene and his gangsters should stop parading themselves as Urhobo leaders, saying they have failed to carry out their duties in the past.

He extolled the leadership qualities of Olorogun Moses Taiga, noting that Taiga is for the interest of the Urhobo not for selfish gains as being hitherto witnessed.
