In the spirit of the yuletide, former secretary to Delta state government, Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, has felicitated with Christians across the country stating that the birth of Christ is a reminder of the renewed hope he ushered to mankind.
In a statement issued by his Media Assistant, Mr. Iteveh Ekpokpobe, Macaulay urged christian to keep focus on that renewed hope as a spur for better Nigeria.
He urged Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of giving in love in view of the dictates of the season.
According to him, the birth of Christ is a symbol of love given to mankind for its redemption, hence love and care for one another should be the watchword of every Christian.
He said, “Jesus Christ was born to the world at a most trying time in the sanity of man’s soul. His birth brought hope. His birth announced a new life for mankind. As we celebrate today we must build on that hope.”
“The birth of Christ preaches love. Let’s show love by giving, not only to loved ones, but, to the needy as well. For Christ loves a cheerful giver.” He added.
Macaulay also urged Christians to use the solemn avenue to pray for peace in Nigeria ahead of the fast approaching general election
